    Presentamos una definición de la corriente fílmica del periodo de entreguerras denominada Sinfonías Urbanas a través de sus características más relevantes a nivel de realización, narrativa y estética. Partiendo del valor documental de estas obras cinematográficas como imagen de la ciudad del periodo de entreguerras, establecemos una relación comparativa con el filme de Ignacio Agüero Aquí se construye (o Ya no existe el lugar donde nací) (Chile, 2.000), que también centra su interés en filmar la ciudad, y en particular un barrio de Santiago de Chile que se encuentra en pleno proceso de transformación urbanística. Para su elaboración recurrimos al análisis comparado, apoyándonos en un exhaustivo análisis de contenido.

    We present a definition of the film stream of the interwar period called Urban Symphonies through its most relevant characteristics at the level of realization, narrative and aesthetics. Starting from the documentary value of these cinematographic works as an image of the city of the interwar period, we establish a comparative relationship with the film Aquí se construye (Chile, 2000) directed by Ignacio Agüero. This film also focuses its interest in filming the city, and in particular a neighborhood of Santiago de Chile that is in the process of urban transformation. For its elaboration we resort to the comparative analysis, relying on an exhaustive analysis of content.
