    El uniforme militar va unido a un contexto histórico-social concreto. España administró unos territorios africanos. Entre 1943 y 1975, los militares españoles utilizaron en África unos uniformes adaptados a unos condicionantes políticos, sociales y económicos propios. Fueron determinantes la moda vigente tanto entre europeos, como entre africanos, así como el entorno islámico y africano dónde se adoptó y el cometido para el que se requerían las prendas. Todos estos rasgos influyeron en el empleo de dicho vestuario. Sin la utilización de esta fuente el historiador difícilmente puede conocer plenamente aquella realidad.

    The military uniform is linked to a specific historical-social context. Spain administered some African territories. Between 1943 and 1975 the Spanish military used in Africa uniforms adapted to their own political, social and economic conditions. The prevailing fashion among both Europeans and Africans was decisive, as was the Islamic and African environment where it was adopted and the purpose for which the garments were required. All these features influenced the use of such clothing. Without the use of this source the historian can hardly fully know that reality.
