    El presente artículo trata de dar a conocer algunos aspectos fundamentales de la vida de Erramun Joakin Sunbil, «el herrero de Ituren». A través de la información obtenida, principalmente en los archivos que se citan en el apartado «Erreferentziak», se ha podido completar ampliamente lo hasta ahora conocido y publicado sobre el citado personaje. Dicha información nos ha permitido conocer, entre otros aspectos, sus antecedentes familiares, su vida en Ituren, el viaje a Montevideo donde murió y el detallado contenido de su testamento.

    This article tries to present some fundamental aspects of the life of Erramun Joakin Sunbil, «the blacksmith of Ituren».

    t h is information has allowed us to know, among other aspects, his family background, his life in Ituren, the trip to Montevideo where he died and the detailed content of his will.

    Artikulu honen xedea da Erramun Joakin Sunbil «Iturengo arotza» zenaren biziaren al- derdi nagusi batzuk ezagutzera ematea. Izan ere, «Erreferentziak» atalean aipatzen di- ren artxiboetatik jasotako informazioari esker, nabarmenki osatu dugu arotzari buruz orain arte argitara eman izan dena.
