El film Firts they killed my father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers (2017) está basado en el libro homónimo de Loung Ung (2001), en el que narra su historia personal, vivida y padecida, de los crímenes atroces que cometieron los Jemeres Rojos en Camboya. La mirada de Loung es la mirada de un testigo, de una víctima que nos muestra la cara más oscura y deleznable del ser humano con el objetivo de que la lógica de la memoria se imponga a la del olvido a fin de garantizar, además, la no repetición de lo sucedido.

The film Firts they killed my father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers (2017) is based on the book of the same name by Loung Ung (2001), in which she narrates her personal story, lived and suffered, of the atrocious crimes committed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Loung's gaze is the gazeof a witness, of a victim who shows us the darkest and most despic-able side of the human being with the aim of ensuring that the logic of memory prevails over that of oblivion in order to guarantee the non-repetition of what happened
