    En Costa Rica, la apertura de la primera escuela de arquitectura y la fundación del Colegio de Arquitectos favorecieron el inicio de una discusión acerca del papel de la profesión en el país (1970-1973). Este texto explora la agencia de la revista oficial del Colegio de Arquitectos como expositora de tópicos alrededor del ambiente tropical: identidad, regionalismo y modernidad, a partir de 1990. La labor editorial sugiere una aspiración permanente por consolidar el campo disciplinar de la arquitectura en Costa Rica.

    The opening of the first School of Architecture and the foundation of the ArchitectsAssociation (CA) allowed for the beginning of a discussion about the role of architects in thecountry (1970-73). This paper explores the agency that the official journal of the CA had inexposing topics related to the tropical environment: identity, regionalism, and modernity, from1990. We suggest that the editorial curation of those topics relates to an ongoing aspirationto consolidate a disciplinary field within the Costa Rican society.
