    La cistitis enfisematosa en una entidad poco frecuente pero potencialmente grave. Se caracteriza por la presencia de gas en la pared o en la luz vesical, y su principal etiología son microorganismos como E. Coli y K.pneumoniae en pacientes ancianos o diabéticos. La neumaturia o la persistencia de síntomas urinarios irritativos a pesar de un tratamiento antibiótico son clave para el diagnóstico, que se confirmará mediante una prueba de imagen (radiografía, ecografía o TC). En la imagen presentamos un caso de cistitis enfisematosa, acompañada de una breve descripción del proceso diagnóstico y terapéutico

    Emphysematous cystitis is a rare but potentially serious entity. It is characterized by the presence of gas in the bladder wall or lumen. Its main etiology is microorganisms such as E. Coli and K. pneumoniae in elderly or diabetic patients. Pneumaturia or the persistence of irritative urinary symptoms despite anti-biotic treatment are key to the diagnosis. Diagnosis will be confirmed by an imaging test (x-ray, ultrasound or CT). In the image we present a case of emphysematous cystitis, accompanied by a brief description of the diagnostic and therapeutic process.
