El fracaso renal agudo se define como la disminución en la capacidad renal para eliminar productos nitrogenados de desecho, instaurada en horas-días. Generalmente, en torno al 80% presentará buena evolución y recuperará total o parcialmente la función renal. Sin embargo, un porcentaje de FRA severo (10-20%) continuará precisando tratamiento sustitutivo renal al alta. Entre ellos la trombosis bilateral de ambas arterias renales. Comunicamos un caso de fracaso renal agudo secundario a obstrucción bilateral de endoprótesis aórtica con trombosis secundaria de arterias renales que finalmente requirió hemodiálisis.

Acute renal failure is defined as the decrease in the renal capacity to eliminate nitrogenous waste products, established in hours to days. Generally, around 80%, they will present a good evolution and will totally or partially recover renal function. However, a percentage of severe ARF (10-20%) will continue to require renal replacement therapy at discharge. Among them the bilateral thrombosis of both renal arteries. We report a case finally diagnosed with acute renal failure due to aortic endoprosthesis obstruction with secondary thrombosis of renal arteries that finally required hemodialysis.
