Resumen de Compresión axial en la madera: Comparación normativa UNE-ASTM

  En el campo de la caracterización de la madera existe, en algún caso, una confusa información sobre laspropiedades físicas y mecánicas del material. Los motivos que han llevado a esta circunstancia se puedenresumir en dos: una evolución normativa que va contemplando aspectos mucho más prolijos en la realizaciónde los ensayos y la utilización de diferentes normas, que utilizan metodologías distintas, para la determinaciónde una misma propiedad.En este trabajo se comparan las normativas ASTM-D143–94(2000) y UNE-EN-408:2010 en la determinación dela resistencia de la madera a la compresión paralela a las fibras, utilizando muestras de 4 especies (P. pinaster,P. silvestris, P. radiata y Populus x euramericana). Los resultados obtenidos muestran diferenciasestadísticamente significativas en los valores de Resistencia a la compresión entre las dos normativas utilizadas.

  In the field of wood characterization there is, in some cases, confusing information about the physical and mechanical properties of the material. The reasons can be summarized in two: a normative evolution, that contemplates much more detailed aspects in the realization of the tests, and the use of different norms, which use different methodologies for the determination of the same property. In this work, the ASTM-D143–94(2000) and UNE-EN-408:2010 standards are compared in the determination of the resistance of the wood to the Compression Parallel to Grain, using samples from 4 species (P. pinaster, P.silvestris, P. radiata and Populus x euramericana). The results show statistically significant differences in thevalues of Resistance to compression between the two normatives used.
