Resumen de Simulador de Estudio de Grabación de Audio

Audio and Video engineering students should be conversant with the work in the recording studio. Unfortunately, due to its high price, few units are available and thus the students cannot practice so much time as wished. In this paper the development of an Audio Recording Studio Simulator is presented. The simulator allows the students to practice with the different devices that can be found in a recording studio, where the mixing console is the main element. The students can virtually practice before the sessions to make the most of the time in the studio, which is the main target. Additionally, it can be used to check and revise the knowledge. Different technical and pedagogical aspects are also discussed specially about the simulator functionalities, in order to simplify the real system and keep the main tasks without losing its teaching value. The results show how the students notice an improvement in the learning process when they use this tool.
