    El objetivo del estudio fue describir la experiencia laboral de mujeres con discapacidad motora en relación al papel de la familia y la construcción de un proyecto de vida, fue de corte cualitativo con diseño fenomenológico. Se realizó por medio de una entrevista semiestructurada vía telefónica a cuatro mujeres con discapacidad motora quienes tenían experiencia laboral, los resultados permitieron identificar una gama de inquietudes y necesidades que estaban relacionadas algunas a la limitación física y otras a la sensación de seguridad y bienestar emocional que les proporcionó el trabajo. El discurso da cuenta de su necesidad y deseo de incorporarse al ámbito social y productivo de forma oportuna, lo que les permitió reconocer el papel que juega la familia en el proceso de elaborar un proyecto de vida a largo plazo.

    The objective of the study is to describe the work experience of women with motor disabilities in relation to the role of the family and the construction of a life project. The study was structured in a qualitative sense with phenomenological design. It was conducted through a semi-structured interview via telephone to four women with motor disabilities, who had work experience.

    The results allowed to identify a range of concerns and needs, some of them were related to physical limitation and others to the feeling of security and emotional well-being provided by having a working life.

    The study shows the needs and desire, of people interviewed, to join the social and productive environment in a timely manner, which allowed them to recognize the role that the family plays in the process of elaborating a long-term life project.  The results highlight the social conditions that affect the experience of disability, in addition, they point out the importance of analyzing in more detail the impact of disability in different scenarios, due to this condition represents a personal challenge that impacts on a large scale the life of the person who suffers from it.
