Los vestigios procedentes de la Guerra Civil permanecen invisibles en Alcalá de Henares. La comunidad los desconoce y, por consiguiente, no es consciente del valor de estos restos materiales. El estudio y puesta en valor del patrimonio de conflicto debe ser abordado con el propósito de garantizar su conservación y difusión como herramienta de desarrollo social y cultural. Asimismo, servirá para enriquecer el conocimiento sobre este periodo y fortalecer el sentimiento de identidad entre la comunidad y estos vestigios. El espacio seleccionado para desarrollar este planteamiento es el refugio antiaéreo asociado al aeródromo Barberán y Collar, el cual se localiza en el campus de la Universidad de Alcalá. Esta infraestructura adquirió gran importancia durante el conflicto; no obstante, actualmente este vestigio permanece en estado de abandono.

The vestiges of the Civil War remain invisible in Alcalá de Henares. The community doesn’t know them and therefore is not aware of the value of these material remains. The study and enhancement of the conflict heritage must be addressed in order to guarantee its conservation and dissemination as a tool for social and cultural development. It will also serve to enrich knowledge about this historical period and strengthen the sense of identity between the community and these vestiges. The space selected to develop this approach is the bomb shelter associated with the Barberán y Collar aerodrome, which is located on the campus of the University of Alcalá. This infrastructure acquired great importance during the conflict; however, currently this vestige remains abandoned.
