Recuperar el humanismo como solución a la integración de la diversidad en Europa

    Este artículo propone recuperar el humanismo, que está en las raíces de Europa, como parte de la solución para poder integrar las distintas culturas que están llegando a nuestro continente fruto de la inmigración. Después de analizar brevemente el papel de la religión y del secularismo como una de las características básicas del Occidente moderno, se analiza tanto la postura que sostuvo Maritain en su momento, como la que sostiene actualmente Pierre Manent, ya que ambos, con sus diferencias, postulan una vuelta al humanismo cristiano como solución. Por último, se concluye la necesidad de que sea la sociedad civil la que descubra, a partir de ese humanismo, una nueva cultura de relaciones sociales que sea capaz de ver y manejar la diversidad.

    This article proposes to recover humanism, which is at the roots of Europe, as part of the solution to integrate the different cultures that are coming to our continent, as a result of immigration. After briefly analyzing the role of religion and secularism, as one of the basic characteristics of the modern West, we analyzed both the position that Maritain had at the time, and the current position of Pierre Manent, since both, with their differences, postulate a return to Christian humanism as a solution. Finally, the need for civil society to discover, based on that humanism, a new culture of social relations that is capable of seeing and managing diversity, is concluded.
