    The essay traces the scientific career of Marcel Le Glay through the studies that the researcher carried out on religious culture in Roman Africa, through the analysis of archaeological and epigraphic discoveries. From his experience at Palazzo Farnese in Rome, we can see his Africa path which began in 1948 in Algeria, where Le Glay became Assistant Director of Antiquities. In his scientific production particular attention is paid to the cult of Saturn in Africa, the subject of two monographs and numerous articles, to Dea Africa, to the theme of romanization and to the phenomenon of syncretism.

    L’essai retrace la carrière scientifique de Marcel Le Glay à travers les études que le savant a menées sur la culture religieuse en Afrique romaine, à travers l’analyse des découvertes archéologiques et épigraphiques. À partir de son expérience romaine au Palais Farnèse, on voit son parcours africain qui commence en 1948 en Algérie, où Le Glay fut nommé Directeur-adjoint des Antiquités. Dans sa production scientifique une attention particulière est portée au culte de Saturne en Afrique, qui fit l’objet de deux monographies et de nombreux articles, à la Dea Africa, au thème de la romanisation et au phénomène du syncrétisme.
