  Ferrocarril y educación tienen una relación interesante que puede ser muy fructífera si pensamos desde la perspectiva de la educación patrimonial. Los beneficios pueden ser mutuos, tanto para el ferrocarril, por lo que supone para su puesta en valor, como para el contexto educativo, por la capacidad didáctica, motivadora e interdisciplinar del sistema y patrimonio ferroviario. El objetivo es plantear un debate y sugerir acciones didácticas y temas que pueden ser aprovechados por educadores y gestores de patrimonio ferroviario, poniendo especial atención a los museos y las escuelas. Para ello, presentamos aspectos como la interdisciplinariedad, el debate sobre la sostenibilidad, la perspectiva histórica, la conexión local-global, la relación entre sociedad y tecnología y la competencia cultual

  Railway and education have an interesting relationship that can be very fruitful if we think about it from the heritage education’s perspective. Benefits can be mutual, both for the railway -due to what this means for pointing out its valueand for the educational context -due to the teaching, motivating and interdisciplinary capability of the railway system and heritage. The purpose of this work is to open up a debate and to suggest didactic actions and topics that could be used by educators and managers of the railway heritage, paying special attention to museums and schools. For this reason, we present aspects like interdisciplinarity, the debate about sustainability, the historical perspective, the global-local connection, the relationship between society and technology, and the cultural competence.
