Tras de una breve reseña geográfica e histórica sobre la Península Arábiga, región del origen e inicial desarrollo del Islam, partimos obviamente de su fundador Mahoma y de sus Textos Sagrados, en particular del Corán, y hacemos un breve repaso por los artrópodos que mencionan estos libros. Posteriormente comentamos algunos elementos sobre esta religión y su sorprendentemente rápida expansión, y pasamos a comentar algunos elementos de las inmensas aportaciones de esta Civilización Islámica, sea en la Arquitectura, Literatura o Ciencia, donde, a pesar de la iconoclastia que profesa esta religión, comentamos algunos ejemplos de los artrópodos que hemos encontrado, no solo citados, sino representados en sus manifestaciones artísticas y, especialmente en sus textos, en particular en los de temas astronómicos, botánicos, médicos, zoológicos o agrícolas, pero también en sus bellas miniaturas que ilustraban algunos de sus libros. Por último, comentamos algunos aspectos relacionados con sus costumbres, alimentación y su artesanía.

After a brief geographical and historical review of the Arabian Peninsula, the region of origin and initial development of Islam, we obviously start from its founder Muhammad and his Sacred Texts, in particular the Koran, and we do a brief review of the arthropods mentioned in these books. Later we comment on some elements about this religion and its surprisingly rapid expansion, and we will go on to comment on some elements of the immense contributions of this Islamic Civilization, be it in Architecture, Literature or Science, where, despite the iconoclasm that this religion professes, we comment on some examples of the arthropods that we have found, not only cited, but represented in their artistic manifestations and, especially in their texts, particularly in astronomical, botanical, medical, zoological or agricultural subjects, but also in their beautiful miniatures that they illustrated in some of their books. Finally, we discuss some aspects related to their customs, food and crafts.
