  • The article presents the theoretical context where Marcel Manes succeeds in formulating a sociological concept of prayer. This proposal is forwarded from thecontributions of structural linguistics and, inparticular, from the structuralistic anthropology. Inthis way, it is postulated the analytical pertinence ofmusic and dance as a prayer
