    Las primeras actuaciones de estudio del patrimonio geológico en la provincia de Segovia comenzaron al final de la década de 1980, con carácter pionero en España. A lo largo de estas tres décadas se han diseñado e implementado iniciativas en los cuatro ámbitos del patrimonio geológico, por este orden: inventario, legislación, geoconservación y difusión. Muchas de estas actuaciones han sido innovadoras, llegando incluso a exportarse a otros territorios y al ámbito nacional, como ocurre con la cartografía de polígonos del inventario, su protección legal, la creación de la ‘Asociación Geología de Segovia’, el voluntariado para la geoconservación con ‘Apadrina una roca’, el geoturismo urbano, el empleo de la realidad aumentada y las TIC en la difusión, o la implementación del patrimonio en la educación ambiental, entre otras. Sin embargo, también han ocurrido fracasos o, al menos, no se han alcanzado los objetivos inicialmente perseguidos, como ocurrió con la propuesta de Geoparque del Guadarrama norte o las geo-rutas urbanas programadas. Esta comunicación hace un repaso de estos 30 años, con el objetivo de que sirva de experiencia y modelo a otros territorios.

    The first geoheritage management actions in the province of Segovia (Central Spain) began at the end of the 1980s, with a pioneering character in Spain. Throughout these three decades, initiatives have been designed and implemented in the four classic areas of asset management: inventory, legislation, geoconservation and dissemination. Many of these actions have been innovative and have had remarkable success, even exporting to other territories and the national level, as with the geosites mapping using polygons for the inventory, its legal protection, the creation of the “Geology Association of Segovia”, the volunteering for geoconservation with ‘Save a Rock’ program, urban geotourism, the use of augmented reality and ICT in the geoheritage outreach, or their implementation in environmental education. However, others have been failures or have not achieved the aims pursued, as was the case with the geopark proposal of the northern foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama or the programmed urban geo-routes. This communication reviews this set of initiatives with the aim of serving as an experience and model to other territories.
