Resumen de Perfil antropométrico de goleiros de futebol das seleções participantes das copas do mundo entre os anos de 2002/2014: um estudo comparativo

  A specific football position, the goalkeeper, has the main function of defending the goal, which measures 244 (cm) in height by 732 (cm) in width. For that, larger parameters seem to emerge in relation to the height of this athlete. This study aimed to describe the height profile of the goalkeepers from de national teams that played the World Cups in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. In addition, the study aimed to analyse the variations in height over this period. This is a descriptive study and the sample consisted of 384 goalkeepers, 96 in each tournament. To verify the differences between the means of height (stratified by continents and world event), the Anova one-way statistical test was used. When the F test was significant, the differences between the groups were analyzed by Bonferroni post-hoc test. There was no significant variation among the heights over the world cups. In 2002, there was no significant difference between continents, a result that was not repeated in the other editions of the tournament. The observed variability may be the result of ethnic differences among different peoples, or even of social, economic and cultural conditions, with the developed countries offering better live conditions, thus influencing the anthropometric profile of the population. Finally, the natural selection of the sport, together with the development of the sports sciences also point to an increase in stature. It is important to deepen this theme, in a longer time frame, showing better the variability of the stature from the goalkeepers and correlating it with their efficiency level.

  Uma figura específica do futebol, o goleiro, tem a função primária de defender a meta, que mede 244 (cm) de altura por 732 (cm) de largura. Para tanto, parecem surgir parâmetros maiores em relação à estatura deste atleta. Este estudo visou descrever o perfil de estatura dos goleiros das seleções que jogaram as Copas do Mundo de futebol de 2002, 2006, 2010 e 2014. Além disso, analisar as variações na estatura ao longo deste período. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, e a amostra foi composta por 384 goleiros, 96 em cada torneio. Para verificar as diferenças entre as médias de estatura estratificadas por continentes e por mundial, utilizou-se o teste estatístico ANOVA one-way. Quando o teste F foi significativo, as diferenças entre os grupos foram analisadas pelo post-hoc de Bonferroni. Não houve variação significativa entre as médias de estatura ao longo dos mundiais. Em 2002, não houve diferença significativa entre continentes, resultado este que não se repetiu nas demais edições do torneio. A variabilidade observada, pode ser fruto de diferenças étnicas entre os diversos povos, ou ainda das condições sociais, econômicas e culturais, sendo que países desenvolvidos conseguem ofertar melhores condições de vida, influenciando assim no perfil antropométrico da população. Por fim, a seleção natural da modalidade, juntamente com o desenvolvimento das ciências do esporte apontam também para o aumento da estatura. É importante o aprofundamento desta temática, em recorte de tempo maior, evidenciando melhor a variabilidade da estatura dos goleiros e correlacionando com o seu nível de eficiência.
