El trabajo que presentamos sobre el Archivo Municipal de Gara-chico, situado en el exconvento de San Francisco, se ha realizado con el fin de dar a conocer el legado documental que se custodia en el municipio y, como apuntamos a lo largo del mismo, solo haremos referencia al Fondo Histórico Municipal. El Archivo Municipal es una realidad que ha costado tres décadas, desde su puesta en mar-cha en 1989, para adecuar la documentación y ponerla a disposi-ción de usuarios e investigadores.

The work that we present on the Municipal Archive of Garachico, located in the exconvent of San Francisco, has been carried out in order to publicize the documentary legacy that is kept in the municipality, as we point out throughout it, we will only refer to the Municipal Historical Fund. The Municipal Archive is a reality that has taken three decades, since its inception in 1989, to adapt the documentation and make it available to users and researchers.
