The type of crustal deformation in the Campo de Montiel can assist in the understanding of the internal features of the main aquifer developed in the Jurassic carbonate platform. The direction of subsurface flow, the transmisivity and internal subdivision of the aquifer are interpreted in terms of cover and whole crust flexures as well as N140E directed transverse fault and fracture zones.
