Familia Christi: la eclesiología en el libro XII del "Contra Faustum" de Agustín de Hipona

    En la primera parte del presente artículo se hace una reseña bibliográfica de las obras que en los últimos cien años han abordado de un modo directo y central el Contra Faustum de san Agustín, haciendo una descripción más extensa de las obras más significativas. Posteriormente se abordan las ideas eclesiológicas del libro XII del Contra Faustum para señalar, en primer lugar, la justificación exegética de san Agustín para poder interpretar el Antiguo Testamento en un sentido figurado. Posteriormente se aborda la figura eclesiológica central del libro XII del Contra Faustum que es el arca de Noé, poniendo de manifiesto la significación simbólica de los animales puros e impuros, de los maderos cuadrados e imperecederos con los que fue construida el arca, de la puerta lateral del arca y su relación con el costado de Cristo, de los tres niveles del arca de Noé y su interpretación eclesial, de la brea que unía los maderos como símbolo de la unidad y la paz dentro de la Iglesia. Se destaca la importancia del sintagma familia Christi como epíteto de la Iglesia. Se aborda también el tema de la Iglesia como cuerpo de Cristo y la exégesis prosopológica que san Agustín hace en el libro XII del Contra Faustum, así como diversas imágenes de la Iglesia que san Agustín ve representadas en algunos personajes del Antiguo Testamento mencionados en el libro XII del Contra Faustum. Los argumentos son presentados haciendo referencia a otras obras contemporáneas al Contra Faustum, principalmente el De Baptismo, Ad catholicos fratres, algunos sermones y enarrationes in Psalmos.

    The first part of this article, presents a bibliographic review of the works that in the last hundred years have addressed in a direct and central way Augustine's Contra Faustum, making a more extensive description of the most important of them. Later the ecclesiological ideas of Book XII of Augustine's Contra Faustum are approached, to discuss, Saint Augustine's exegetical justification to make an spiritual interpretation of the Old Testament. Subsequently, the central ecclesiological figure of Book XII of Augustine's Contra Faustum is addressed, namely, Noah's ark, híghlighting the symbolic meaning of the pure and impure animals, of the square and imperishable timbers wíth which the ark was built, of the ark's side door and íts relationship with the side of Christ, of the three levels of Noah's ark and its ecclesial interpretation, of the greasy glue that joined the timbers as a symbol of unity and peace wíthin the Church. The importance of the expression/amilia Chrlsti as a name for the Church is highlighted, making an exposítíon of other augustínan works in which this expression is used. The theme of the Church as the body of Christ and the prosopologícal exegesis in Augustine's Book XII of Contra Faustum is also addressed, as well as Saint Augustine's ínterpretatíon of sorne characters of the Old Testament as figures of the Chruch in book XII of Contra Faustum, The article addresses indirectly to other contemporary Works of Contra Faustum, such as De Baptismo, Ad catholicos fratres and some sermons and enarrationes in Psalmos,
