  En las fronteras de las ciencias, las tecnologías y las religiones se está configurando un modelo de universo complejo. Este modelo presupone una realidad múltiple, contradictorio-complementaria, danzante y fluyente, de naturaleza heraclitiana. Pero ¿quién puede asegurar que sigue siendo así en profundidad? ¿Es múltiple y compleja la raíz más honda de lo Real? ¿Es múltiple y complejo lo Real-en-sí? ¿Se equivocaron Parménides y los Upanishad? Con ocasión del centenario del nacimiento de Edgar Morin, recordamos que sus escritos están hoy suministrando una descripción magistral de lo que la tradición hindú de la Vedanta Advaita denomina Maya, la Gran Ilusión Cósmica. Pero lo Real, Lo Simple, sigue oculto tras el velo. Una de las corrientes sobresalientes del pensamiento contemporáneo ha conducido, en la línea de Bergson, Whitehead y el mismo Teilhard de Chardin, a la superación del racionalismo reduccionista de tradición cartesiana por un nuevo paradigma holístico, al que Edgar Morin ha contribuido desde el enfoque sistémico de la complejidad.

  At the frontiers of sciences, technologies and religions, a model of a complex universe is taking shape. This model presupposes a multiple, contradictory-complementary, dancing and flowing reality, a Heraclitian nature. But who can be sure that it is still so in depth? Is the deepest root of the Real multiple and complex? Is the Realin- itself multiple and complex? Were Parmenides and the Upanishads wrong? On the occasion of the centenary of Edgar Morin’s birth, we recall that his writings are today providing a masterly description of what the Hindu tradition of Advaita Vedanta calls Maya, the Great Cosmic Illusion. But the Real, the Simple, remains hidden behind the veil. One of the outstanding currents of contemporary thought has led, along the lines of Bergson, Whitehead and Teilhard de Chardin himself, to the overcoming of the reductionist rationalism of the Cartesian tradition by a new holistic paradigm, to which Edgar Morin has contributed from the systemic approach of complexity.
