Resumen de Antimonopolismo e sviluppo del Mezzogiorno: il PCI e la nascita del quarto centro siderurgico di Taranto, 1955-1959
The aim of this essay is to reconstruct the position of the PCI in front of thenew policies launched by the State in the second half of the fifties in favor of the Mezzogiorno and in particular towards the construction of the great iron and steelcenter of Taranto.Taranto’s large iron and steel center is the symbol and at the same time the mostsignificant result of the new policy of extraordinary interventions launched by theState in favor of the South Italy since the second half of the fifties and inevitably areconstruction of the origins of the plant may not take into account the commitmentand action of the Italian Communist Party (Pci).The essay resorting to a vast plurality of sources, then reconstructs the moves of thePCI starting in 1955, when the theme of the industrialization of the South entersthe national political agenda until the beginning of 1959 when the story finally findsits conclusion.
