Resumen de Estructura y dinámica del manto bajo la Península Ibérica: la contribución del proyecto Topo-Iberia

La plataforma instrumental IberArray, parte integrante del proyecto Topo-Iberia, ha proporcionado un aumento radical en la cantidad de datos geofísicos disponibles para definir la estructura y dinámica del manto bajo la Península Ibérica. La funciones receptoras han permitido obtener un mapa detallado de las variaciones de grosor cortical. Las diversas tomografías de ondas compresionales y de superfície han permitido definir la geometría de la zona de alta velocidad bajo Alborán. Las discontinuidades a 410 y 660 km han sido investigadas utilizando métodos novedosos de correlación cruzada y sumación. Finalmente, la medida e interpretación de los parámetros anisotrópicos ha hecho posible describir el flujo a nivel astenosférico.

The IberArray instrumental platform, part of the TopoIberia project, has provided a huge increase on the geophysical datasets available to constrain the structure and dynamics of the mantle beneath the Iberian Peninsula.
Receiver Functions have allowed to map accurately large crustal thickness variations. Volume and surface wave tomographies have been obtained for the crust and the upper mantle, allowing to define the geometry of the highvelocity slab beneath Alboran. The 410-km and 660-km discontinuities have been investigated using novel crosscorrelation/stacking techniques. Finally, the measurement and interpretation of the anisotropic parameters has provided a new insight on the asthenospheric flow.
