Resumen de Reflexiones críticas sobre los Ídolos de la Filosofía (consideraciones periféricas)

Son muchos los artículos escritos por filósofos que defienden la pertinencia de la Filosofía y el lugar que debería ocupar como reina del saber, de la cultura y de las creen-cias. Suelen presentar a la Filosofía asediada por las amenazas reales de los bajos instintos, ya sea de los individuos o del poder, tanto público como privado. Pero muchos menos son los artículos escritos por filósofos que se dediquen a una autocrítica. La presente reflexión crítica, a pesar de las apariencias, defiende la pertinencia de la Filosofía como pieza funda-mental del pensamiento crítico, pero recorre el camino inverso, el de la autocrítica de la propia disciplina. Considero que para defender a la Filosofía como la eminente disciplina del pensamiento crítico, que puede ser, primero ha de ser coherente consigo misma y so-meterse a ella. Ha habido grandes transformaciones en el mundo durante las últimas déca-das y la influencia que ello ha tenido en la Filosofía requiere que esta se ponga al día, deba pulirse y limpiarse para que no sea refugio de prejuicios e ídolos cotidianos. Para ello, pro-ponemos una reflexión sobre los Ídolos de la Filosofía: sustantiva, ignorante, inculta, inútil, irracional, occidental y antioccidental, Moderna y anti-Moderna, del sujeto, del individuo, santificada y dogmática, del Templo, apolítica, no ideológica, global y local, académica, del guerrero frío, culturalista-economicista… Cada tribu tiene sus ídolos, y la tribu de los filó-sofos no podíamos ser menos.

There are many articles written by philosophers that defend the relevance of Philosophy and the place it should occupy as the queen of knowledge, culture and beliefs. They tend to present a philosophy besieged by real threats from lower instincts, whether from individuals or from power, both public and private. But far fewer are the articles written by philosophers who dedicate themselves to a self-criticism. The present critical reflection, despite appearances, defends the relevance of Philosophy as a fundamental piece of critical thought, but goes the opposite way, that of self-criticism of the discipline itself. I believe that to defend philosophy as the eminent discipline of critical thinking, which it may be, it must first be consistent with itself and submit to it. There have been great transformations in the world during the last decades and the influence that this has had on philosophy requires that it be brought up to date, must be polished and cleaned so that it is not a refuge from prejudices and everyday idols. For this, we propose a reflection on the Idols of Philosophy: substantive, ignorant, uncultivated, useless, irrational, Western and anti-Western, Modern and anti-Modern, of the subject, of the individual, sanctified and dogmatic, of the Temple, apolitical, not ideological, global and local, academic, cold warrior, culturalist-economist... Each tribe has its idols, and the tribe of philosophers could not be less.
