Resumen de Primeras evidencias de arte rupestre prehistórico en la Cueva del Camello (Zegzel, Berkane, Marruecos)

  Estas primeras anotaciones presentan el descubrimiento de arte rupestre parietal prehistórico en la cueva del Camello situada en el Valle del Zegzel, provincia de Berkane, al este de Marruecos. Se trata de un importante conjunto kárstico, que fue catalogado dentro del Patrimonio Nacional en diciembre de 1953, y ha sido objeto de diversos estudios de carácter geológico, espeleológico, y ahora arqueológico. Con estas notas preliminares pretendemos dar a conocer esta novedad y llamar la atención de los investigadores. El hallazgo, que enriquece el patrimonio rupestre nacional del País, constituye un pequeño panel de grabados “figurativos, semifigurativos y geométricos” de carácter prehistórico, actualmente en estudio, y se planea un proyecto para esclarecer su edad y contexto cultural. Señalemos que en Marruecos, incluso en el Magreb, se desconoce arte rupestre en el interior de cuevas subterráneas, en consecuencia, quizás se trate de la única cavidad, conocida hasta hoy, con este tipo de manifestaciones.

  First evidence of prehistoric rock art in Camel cave (Zegzel Gorges, Berkane, Morocco). These first annotations present the discovery of prehistoric parietal rock art in the Camel cave located in the Zegzel Valley, in Eastern of Morocco. It is an important karst complex, which was listed as a National Heritage Site in December 1953, and has been the subject of various geological, speleological, and now archaeological studies. With these preliminary notes we intend to publicize this news and draw the attention of researchers. This discovery, which enriches the country's national rock art heritage, consists of a small panel of prehistoric "figurative, semifigurative and geometric" engravings, currently under study, and a project is planned to determine its age and cultural context. It should be noted that in Morocco or even in the Maghreb rock art inside underground caves is unknown, consequently, it may be the only known cave with this type of manifestations to date.
