Resumen de La artificialidad-naturalidad de las relaciones a través de las TIC según un grupo de jóvenes

  En el trabajo se presentarán los resultados del desarrollo y análisis de un grupo de discusión realizado con jóvenes sobre las relaciones que se establecen en la actualidad entre ciudadanos y tecnologías. Los protagonistas de la dinámica fueron tres alumnas y cuatro alumnos de cuarto de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria matriculados en diferentes centros urbanos de barrios periféricos con estatus socioeconómico bajo (criterios de homogeneidad). Para su selección, se atendió también a su capital político, uso de las TIC, rendimiento académico y género (criterios de heterogeneidad), desglosando el grupo en mitades de participantes con el valor alto o bajo para cada uno de estos criterios. El discurso del grupo establece una oposición entre relación natural y relación artificial, valorando negativamente la comunicación a través de las TIC, por considerar que las relaciones que se establecen a través de éstas no son comunicativas. Esta oposición le lleva a establecer otras confrontaciones entre el ellos (dependencia-enganche del móvil) y el nosotros (no dependenciaenganche del móvil); así como el uso responsable –positivo- e irresponsable –negativo de las TIC. Estos asuntos son los que abordaremos en el desarrollo de la comunicación junto con los elementos y posiciones discursivas que nos permitirá analizar la posiciones sociales del grupo.

  This paper will present the findings obtained from the development and analysis of a focus group comprised of young people discussing the relationships that are currently established between citizens and technologies. Participants in the discussion group were three female and four male students, from low socioeconomic backgrounds, enrolled in the fourth year of Compulsory Secondary Education at different suburban schools (criteria for homogeneity). During participant selection, political capital, ICT use, academic achievement, and gender were also taken into consideration (criteria for heterogeneity). The group was divided into two, each half comprising participants with a high or low score for each of the criteria. The group discourse established a contradiction between natural relationship and artificial relationship, valuing communication through ICTs negatively because the relationships established by this means are not considered communicative. This contradiction led to further confrontations such as “them" (cell phone dependence-addiction) and "us” (no cell phone dependence-addiction), and responsible use – positive–- and irresponsible use –negative– of ICTs. These issues, along with the discursive elements and positions, were dealt with in the development of this paper, thus enabling us to analyze the group's social positions.
