  Los doctores Manuel Bago Aguirre y José Bago Lecosais, padre e hijo, vivieron entre finales del siglo XIX y primera mitad del siglo XX. El padre, decano del cuerpo médico municipal de San Sebastián, es conocido por ser autor junto con el Dr. Martín Aramburu del “Manual de higiene y medicina popular” publicado en 1899. El hijo, que tuvo que exiliarse en Argentina al ser militante de izquierda republicana, destacó en la Asociación Argentina de Pediatría que ha puesto su nombre a un premio que concede anualmente al mejor trabajo pediátrico.A ambos les une, que tras el alzamiento contra la república fueron juzgados y condenados. El padre a pagar una elevada multa y el hijo a la pena de muerte que evitó al ser canjeado por el Dr. Gómez Ulla.

  Doctors Manuel Bago Aguirre and José Bago Lecosais, father and son, lived between the end of the 19th century and the fi rst half of the 20th century. The father, dean of the San Sebastián municipal medical body, is known to be the author along with Dr. Martín Aramburu of the “Manual of hygiene and folk medicine” published in 1899. The son, after his exile in Argentina, being a militant of Republican left, highlighted in the Argentine Association of Pediatrics that has put its name to an award that annually awards the best pediatric work.They are joined by both, who after the uprising against the republic were tried and convicted.   Manuel Bago Agirre eta Jose Bago Lecosais doktoreak, aita eta semea, XIX. mendearen amaieraren eta XX. mendearen lehen erdialdearen artean bizi izan ziren. Aita, Donostiako Udal Medikuen Kidegoko dekanoa, ezaguna da Martin Aramburu doktorearekin batera 1899an argitaratutako “Higiene eta herri medikuntzako eskuliburua” ren egilea izateagatik.
