Resumen de Repensando los quipus y tocapus “incaicos” en los documentos Miccinelli

Se reflexionará aquí sobre el supuesto intento del grupo en torno a Blas Valera de reelaborar la historiografía andina, como se ha escrito en los dos documentos Miccinelli, mediante el lenguaje de los textiles, tomando como casos de estudio los quipus anudados y los tocapus. Se adoptarán como puntos de referencia los conocimientos sobre textiles expresados en los dibujos de la Nueva Corónica de Guamán Poma de Ayala y en algunos estudios etnohistóricos recientes sobre los quipus narrativos de los Andes centrales, respaldados por datos sobre su lectura elaborados conjuntamente con las poblaciones actuales del lugar. Se arguye que los quipus supuestamente incaicos ilustrados en los documentos Miccinelli suelen presentar rasgos de un conocimiento de la escritura alfabética, y por tanto es más probable que se trate de ejemplares coloniales.

I reflect here on the supposed intention by the group surrounding Blas Valera to rework Andean historiography, as described in the two Miccinelli documents, through the language of textiles, taking as my case studies the knotted quipu and the tocapu. I take as points of comparison the knowledge about weaving as expressed in the drawings in the Nueva Corónica by Guaman Poma de Ayala, and in some recent ethnohistorical studies from the Central Andes on quipu narratives, supported by data about their interpretation made in collaboration with the present-day populations of the place. I argue that the supposedly Inca quipus illustrated in the Miccinelli documents tend to present aspects of knowledge about alphabetic writing, so it is more probable that we are actually dealing with colonial examples.
