Resumen de Diseccionar un país. Literatura cubana en el siglo XXI / To Survey a Country. Cuban Literature in the XXIst Century
Este trabajo hace un recorrido por algunos de los libros de narrativa y poesía publicados en las últimas décadas en Cuba, tanto por autores consagrados como por jóvenes menores de cuarenta años. De estos últimos se comentan básicamente libros de cuentos y se hace un estudio detallado de sus temáticas de interés, estilos narrativos y recursos escriturales, lo que conduce a una caracterización de ese grupo específico. El análisis se propone demostrar cómo hay un marcado interés por evaluar períodos de la historia del país que marcaron las vidas de estos autores, ya sea la de los primeros años de la revolución, la de los años noventa, que provocaron un giro en muchos sentidos, o la historia más reciente, la cotidiana. El examen de los textos ofrece una actualización de los principales debates y preocupaciones en el panorama cultural de la Cuba de hoy.This article runs through some of the major literary works in prose and poetry published during the past few decades in Cuba, both from recognized authors and from younger writers under forty years old. In regards to the latter group, this article essentially comments on their storybooks and conducts a detailed study of their chosen themes, narrative style, and literary resources to develop an overall characterization of this specific cohort. This analysis seeks to demonstrate the pronounced interest in understanding the periods of Cuban history that shaped the lives of these authors, be they the first years of the Revolution, the Nineties −which led to many shifts− or contemporary history. Keeping in mind the sociocultural frame in which they were published, the examination of these various texts provides an updated view of the main debates and challenges facing the cultural sphere in Cuba today.
