Asumiendo como punto de partida el valor de la libertad individual, el artículo argumenta a favor de la movilidad libre. De acuerdo al argumento, la potestad exclusionaria estatal frente a los inmigrantes potenciales sería un tipo de coacción injustificada y, por lo tanto, habría una presunción a favor de la movilidad libre. El artículo examina críticamente tres argumentos articulados por referencia a valores liberales para justificar la potestad exclusionaria (el derecho de propiedad, la libertad de asociación y la justicia social) y sostiene que ninguno es plausible. Sostener el valor de la libertad individual debe llevar a la defensa de un mundo de fronteras abiertas frente a los inmigrantes, una utopía realista en cuya realización los que sostienen el valor de la libertad, debiesen avanzar.

Assuming the value of individual freedom as a starting point, the article advocates for free mobility. According to the central argument, the exclusionary power of the State towards potential immigrants would be a form of unjustified coercion, and accordingly, there should be a presumption in favor of free mobility. The article critically examines three arguments, articulated by reference to liberal values in order to justify this power (the right to property, freedom of association, and social justice) and argues that none of them are plausible. Upholding the value of individual freedom should lead to the defense of a world of open borders for immigrants, a realistic utopia that those who advocate for the value of freedom should advance forward.
