Resumen de La investigación artística en música en Latinoamérica

La investigación artística o investigación-creación posee diversos grados de desarrollo en Latinoamérica. Si bien aún no existe una escena profesional y autónoma de esta actividad, es posible detectar una paulatina construcción de infraestructura estable para su desarrollo. Más frecuente es el caso de artistas que investigan de manera puntual pero que no están muy preocupados por construir metodologías, recursos teóricos e infraestructura de largo alcance. Las escenas más activas en la región son, por un lado, la de artistas universitarios que buscan la homologación institucional de su producción artística como investigación académica. Por otro lado, la investigación artística formativa recibe un prometedor impulso a través de diversos programas en los tres ciclos de educación superior. Este trabajo realiza una mirada panorámica y crítica al desarrollo de esta actividad en el subcontinente.

Artistic research or research-creation has different degrees of development in Latin America. Although there still is no professional and autonomous scene for this activity, it is possible to detect a gradual construction of stable infrastructure for its development. More frequent is the case of artists who do specific research but are not very concerned with building long-range methodologies, theoretical resources, and infrastructure. The most active scenes in the region are, on the one hand, those of university artists who seek institutional homologation of their artistic production as academic research. On the other hand, formative artistic research receives a promising boost through various programs in the three cycles of higher education. This work takes a panoramic and critical look at the development of this activity in the subcontinent.
