Resumen de La independencia y la unidad como fundamentos de la integración en América Latina.: la obra de José Martí

  Se estudia el pensamiento integracionista de Martí, como síntesis teórica y práctica de quienes le antecedieron en la lucha por la independencia y la libertad de nuestro continente, especialmente Miranda y Bolívar. El humanismo de Martí adquirió una dimensión universal que rebasó los estrechos marcos clasistasdel humanismo burgués de la época, su identifi cación con los pobres de la tierra, sus posiciones antirracistas y contrarias a todo tipo de discriminación, unido a una cabal comprensión del peligro imperial del norte, le permitieron desarrollar las ideas de Miranda y Bolívar sobre la unidad latinoamericana y reclamarla en un grito que retumba hoy. Esta unidad es posible porque hay unaidentidad latinoamericana y sin ella no habrá independencia.

  We study the integration of Marti thought as theoretical and practical synthesis of those who pre-ceded him in the fi ght for independence and freedom of our continent, especially Miranda and Bolivar.Marti’s humanism acquired a universal dimension that exceeded the narrow confi nes of bourgeois humanism classist of the time, his identifi cation with the poor of the earth, their anti-racist positions and contrary to all kinds of discrimination, coupled with a thorough understanding of the imperial danger north, allowed him to develop the ideas of Miranda and Bolivar on Latin American unity and claim a cry that echoes today. This unity is possible because there is a Latin American identity and without it there will be no independence.
