    El cardenal Stefan Wyszynski fue uno de los hombres que personificaron la Iglesia del silencio frente al comunismo y se convirtió en el verdadero líder moral de Polonia. Una de sus principales obras fue El espíritu del trabajo, donde desarrolla su pensamiento de justicia social y describe al trabajo como elemento que ayuda a dignificar al hombre. En 1958 se tradujo al español, antes que a ningún otro idioma, por la editorial Rialp. Este artículo trata de la historia de su llegada a España y el significado de su aportación, gracias a la documentación inédita del Fondo Archivístico de la Universidad de Navarra.

    Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski was one of the men who personified the Church of silence in the face of communism and became the true moral leader of Poland. One of his main works was The Spirit of Work where he develops his thought of social justice and describes work as an element that helps to dignify man. In 1958 it would be translated into Spanish, before any other language, at the Rialp publishing house. The story of his arrival in Spain and what his contribution meant is what this article is about, thanks to the unpublished documentation of the Archival Fund of the University of Navarre.
