  • Resumen
    • A geological resource Is any solid, gas o liquid component of the Earth crust, which occurs in optimum concentration for its exploitation. This definition excludes elements or processes of the physical environment offering more than just economic potential, such as outcrops with scientific, didactic or cultural interest and that for this reason should be considered as a geological resource with a patrimonial value.

The so-called cultural georesources have never been included in a classification in the same hierarchical or semantic order with others resources. An wider conception and a new classification of geological resources is introduced including in the same hierarchical and semantic order, on one hand, the classical components of Earth typically considered as resources and, on the other hand, those patrimonial, scientific, didactic or cultural resources considered as geological heritage.
