    Este trabajo investiga la adquisición del parámetro concerniente al orden del sujeto y el verbo en la periferia izquierda de las oraciones interrogativas indirectas del español como L2 por parte de nativos de inglés (L1), divergente en ambas lenguas. El estudio demuestra la validez relativa de la hipótesis de la transferencia de la L1 y la hipótesis de que puede adquirirse sin instrucción explícita. Pero la transferencia no parece ser el único mecanismo de desarrollo de esta interlengua; además, destaca especialmente el efecto de la frecuencia y la cantidad de input en la adquisición. Por ello, es muy aconsejable incluir la estructura en los materiales de enseñanza

    This study focuses on the acquisition of Spanish word order in the left periphery of embedded questions by non-natives (English L1.) English and Spanish display a divergent parameter in this area concerning the position of the subject and the verb. The study tests the hypothesis of transfer of the English parameter and the hypothesis that acquisition takes place without explicit instruction. L1 transfer may not be the only mechanism for the development of this interlanguage; besides, the frequency and the amount of input seem to have an effect in the acquisition.Therefore, it is desirable to include the structure in teaching materials.
