Resumen de El Oxfordiense de Talamantes (Cordillera Ibérica noroccidental): tafonomía, análisis de facies y bioestratigrafía

Middle to early upper Oxfordian deposits from Talamantes area (NW Iberian Range, Spain) are studied on the basis of detailed taphonomic analysis. Ammonite recorded associations show a typical Submediterranean character,; representatives of Perisphinctidae (including Perisphinctinae, Passendorferiinae and Ataxioceratinae) comprising generally over the 90 % of the whole, and representatives of Oppeliidae and Aspidoceratidae becoming only sporadically common. Tethyan representatives of Phylloceratida are only exceptionally present. Taphonomic analysis of ammonite recorded associations shows that reelaborated mould fragments are especially common at two stratigraphic intervals: at the Callovian-Oxfordian boundary, and at the lowest Hypselum Biozone. In the first interval, the higher presence of phosphatic and ferruginous truncated mould fragments probably reflects shallower, more energetic sedimentary environment conditions. In the second interval, however; scarce evidence of abrasion surfaces and incrusting organisms probably reflects a long lasting reelaboration process, but in contrast under deeper sedimentary environment conditions.
