The contract of two altarpieces for a convent from Jerez de los Caballeros, although it was signed in Zafra, reveals the importance of the Zafra artistic area at the 17th Century. The relationship among the 17th Century artists was a frequent activity as it is observable through the employment relationship between Blas de Escobar and Manuel Rodríguez; it allows us to realize the importance of these relations among wood, painting and golding artists. The need to carry on a more detailed research about documentary sources will help to complete the current artistic collection from Badajoz Diocese.
