    El s. VI en Atenas es un momento crucial para la definición y delimitación ciudadana que se realiza al mismo tiempo que una separación tajante entre esclavos-mercancía y ciudadanos. Las medidas legislativas de Solón en este sentido se ven refrendadas, también en época de los pisistrátidas, por una organización y jerarquización del espacio de la ciudad, especialmente el ágora (marcada por rituales purificatorios de entrada a la misma) y los gimnasios. Asimismo se produce y se busca en el campo del imaginario ateniense la relación entre ciertas fiestas y cultos heroicos y divinos (como Heracles, Hefesto y Hermes), y la plena integración cívica.

    The Sixth Century B.C. was a crucial moment in Athens for the delimitation and definition of citizenship, which took place at the same time as the clear separation between slaves and the citizens. The legal measures of Solon in this sense were accompanied -also in the time of the Peisistratids- by the organisation and the hierarchy of city space, especially the agora (whose entrance was marked by purificatory rituals) and the gymnasiums. Likewise, Solon and the Peisistratids promoted, in the Athenian imaginary world, links between some feasts and heroic and divine cults (as Heracles, Hephaistos or Hermes), and full integration into citizenship.
