The author explains the results of an investigation about the attitudes of a group of young Valencian people towards some varieties of Spanish and Catalan. The methodology employed is an adaptation of the matched-guise technique and one of the most interesting conclusions is that there is a close association between high social status and the northern variety of Spanish. This is a diglossic distribution between Spanish and the Valencian variety in which the former is evaluated as a prestige language. On the other hand, in the comparison of the two varieties of Catalan; Valencian and Barceloní, the former is better considered in almost all the psycho-social features than the latter.

L'autor exposa els resultats d'una investigació sobre les percepcions d'un grup de joves valencians sobre algunes varietats de l'espanyol i del català. La metodologia emprada és una variant de la tècnica del matched-guise, i com a conclusions més interessants destaquen l'existència d'una associació entre els trets psicosocials caracteritzats per l'èxit i l'estatus social i la varietat estàndard del castellà, una distribució diglòssica entre les actituds enfront del castellà i del valencià, amb el primer com a llengua de prestigi, i la valoració més positiva del valencià en gairebé tots els paràmetres utilitzats, en detriment de la variant barcelonina.
