Resumen de Paleoperfiles de alteración en sustrato granítico en el borde de la Cuenca Surporenaica Oriental

David Gómez-Gras, G. Lacasa, J.A. Núñez, Teófilo Sanfeliu Montolío

  • The Eastern South Pyrenean Eocene Foreland Basin, located in the eastern margin of the Ebro Basin, is formed by a tectonically active border in the N (that corresponds to the Pyrenees) and a passive wedge in the 5 (that corresponds to the Catalan Coastal Ranges). During the Lower Eocene, a continental sedimentation of red alluvial fans (braid-delta type) took place in the passive margin close to the source area (probably the Montseny Massif). These deposits were allowed by a paleoweathering profile formed in the Paleozoic metamorphic and plutonic rocks, but before the alluvial sedimentation, a tertiary carbonade pedogenetic soil had grown up on the paleoweathering profile.
