The analysis of brittle mesostructures in mesozoic rocks of the easternmost part of the Cameros Massif indicates three stages in their tectonic evolution: 1) mesozoic, syn-rift extension, with o-3 varying from N-5 to ENE, determined from orientation of tension gashes and paleostress analysis of striated fault planes, 2) E-W to ESE compression and 3) N-5 to NE-SW compression. The chronology of these two compressions cannot be determined, but relationships between striae on fault planes suggest a possible 2)-3) sequence. The E-W compression could correspond with the mesozoic cleavage-related shortening described by Gil-lmaz and Pocoví-Juan (1994) in neighbour areas. Late N-5 to NE-SW cornpression is consistent with the main shortening stage during the Tertiary in the Cameros Massif and the lberian Chain.
