Para la diplomacia, y el diplomático de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, existe una relación evidente entre el mundo de la cultura y el mundo de la diplomacia. La doble función que, para dicho agente diplomático, tiene el mundo de la cultura como símbolo elitista característico de la sociedad de ese período -siendo de un lado medio de ascenso político y social, y de otro, parte fundamental en el aprendizaje primero, y posteriormente en el desarollo de la labor diplomática para un correcto desenvolvimiento del agente dentro de este tan complicado mundo de la diplomacia- es fiel reflejo de esa relación entre cultura y diplomacia, donde elitismo y profesionalismo no caminan por separado sino que van de la mano a lo largo de la carrera de estos agentes diplomáticos. Tothe diplomacy, and the diplomat of the ends of the XIX century and the early stages of the XX century, there is an obvious relationship between the culture world and the diplomacy world. The double function that, for the afore mentioned agent,has the culture world as a typical elitist symbol of this period society —being on the one hand a way of political and social promotion and, on the other hand a main partin the apprenticeship first and afterwards in the diplomat task development, to aright development of the agent inside such a complex world of the diplomacy— isa loyal reflection of that relationship between culture and diplomacy, where elitism and professionalism do not cover the way individually but joined all through these diplomat agents career.
