  • Resumen
    • The Patzcuaro Lake shows 4 small volcanic islands and a sedimentary one, the Jaracuaro Island.

This Holocene lake sediments are highly deformed by active faults. Four trenches were made for paleoseismic analysis and eight events were identified. The first event is the seismic landslide of the Estribo (25.000 years B.P.) with correlation in the whole lake basin. The six following events are related to fault activity, the youngest fault cuts soils with archeological evidences (3.000 years B.P.) and only one is related to liquefaction features.
