El artículo trata de la pérdida del vapor Pizarro en el Atlántico, al haber decidido la superioridad, debido al dispendio que suponía verificar aquellas obras en ultramar, que le fueran reemplazadas sus calderas en España. Aunque pudo ser uno más de los trágicos sucesos que han jalonado la historia de nuestra Armada, la aparición providencial de un mercante italiano evitó una gran pérdida de vidas. Finaliza el estudio con una breve mención de la causa instruida en la búsqueda de responsabilidades, y las recompensas recibidas tanto por su dotación como al capitán del buque salvador.

The article deals with the loss of the steamer Pizarro in the Atlantic, having decided the High Command, due to the waste that implied to do those works overseas, that their boilers were replaced in Spain. Although it could have been one more of the tragic events that marked the history of our Navy, the providential enter into the scene of an Italian merchant prevented a great loss of life. The study concludes with a brief mention of the cause instructed in the search for responsibilities, and the rewards received by both his crew and the captain of the salvor ship.
