Resumen de El cine romántico hollywoodiense de la primera década del s. XXI: análisis desde la perspectiva de género

  Este trabajo se adentra en el cine de corte romántico para reflexionar, por un lado, sobre las características y evolución de este género a través de las grandes producciones hollywoodienses y, por otro, sobre las implicaciones que la imagen que refleja puede tener sobre los espectadores más jóvenes en cuanto a los valores e ideales sobre la construcción del género que transmiten. Se pretende determinar si hay un perfil de público al que se dirigen estas películas románticas, conocer las imágenes ofrecidas de los hombres y las mujeres, así como de sus relaciones de pareja y qué modelo o modelos de relación se trasladan desde la gran pantalla. Se ha empleado una metodología mixta tanto cualitativa (entrevistas en profundidad con expertos y análisis de 20 filmes) y cuantitativa (251 estudiantes universitarios fueron encuestados). Tras un repaso por el cine romántico a través de profesionales, estudiantes universitarios y los veinte filmes románticos más taquilleros de la primera década del siglo XXI, se extraen una serie de conclusiones sobre su contribución a una perspectiva de género más igualitaria en las relaciones de pareja partiendo de su potencial influencia en el imaginario social en general, y en el de los espectadores más jóvenes en particular.

  This work studies the romantic cinema to reflect, on the one hand, the characteristics and evolution of this genre through the great Hollywood productions and, on the other, the implications that the reflected image can have on younger viewers, regarding the values and ideals on gender construction that they transmit. The aim is to determine whether there is a public profile to which these romantic films are targeted, to know the images offered of men and women, as well as their relationships and which model or models of relationships are transferred from the big screen. A mixed methodology was used, both qualitative (personal in-depth interviews were conducted with professionals and the study of 20 films) and quantitative (251 Spanish university students were surveyed). After a review of romantic cine-ma through professionals, university students and the twenty most viewed romantic films of the first decade of the 21st century, a series of conclusions are drawn about their contribution to a more egalitarian gender perspective in couple re-lationships starting from their potential influence on the social imaginary in general, and on the younger audiences in particular.
