Resumen de Los vericuentos del orden internacional: la importación de reformas

David Ibarra

  • Review of the neoliberal policies applied by national governments, particularly in Latin America. The author highlights the state backing off and the prevalence of the market, and questions these policies for not dealing with relevant issues that later on gave place to deep crises and fissures with enormous social costs for the countries, especially in Mexico and Latin America. In the face of the market failures, he poses the state must recover its administration, activities, as the expectations of its role have not responded to overcome growth rates, domestic imbalances, marginalization, and other distortions. Hence the importance of reformulating criteria to adopt rich countries paradigms, because their embracement will not adjust to the political and social order of each country. He suggests models not to be taken as dogmas, but as flexible approaches to fit into particular circumstances.
