    Andalucía occidental cuenta con un rico patrimonio bajo medieval que se evidencia tanto por su cuantía como por su calidad. Este patrimonio es fruto de un proceso histórico de expansión de los reinos cristianos frente al dominio musulmán, que se desarrolla entre los siglos XIII y XV. Por lo tanto, los bienes históricos existentes son una evidencia de las grandes transformaciones culturales, sociales y económicas que se producen en este periodo de la historia medieval peninsular.Desde la década de 1960 con la expansión del turismo en España,el patrimonio bajo medieval ha sido objeto de uso turístico tanto a nivel individual, como con su integración en rutas o itinerarios culturales. Por otra parte, desde el punto de vista legislativo se ha potenciado su reconocimiento en aras de favorecer su puesta en valor y protección.Por un lado, el objetivo de este trabajo es ofrecer un análisis del patrimonio bajo medieval gaditano, y por otro lado se estudiará su uso turístico así como las posibilidades que ofrece dentro del sector

    Western Andalusia has a rich medieval heritage that is evidenced both by its quantity and its quality. This heritage is the result of a historical process of expansion of Christian kingdoms against Muslim rule, which takes place between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. Therefore, the existing historicalassets are evidence of the great cultural, social and economic transformations that take place in this period of medieval peninsularhistory.Since the 1960s, with the expansion of tourism in Spain, the late medieval heritage has been the subject of tourist use both at an individual level and with its integration into routes or cultural itineraries. On the other hand, from the legislative point of view, its recognition has been enhanced in order to favor its value and protection.On the one hand, the objective of this work is to offer an analysis of the late medieval heritage of Cadiz, and on the other hand, its tourist use will be studied as well as the possibilities it offers within the sector.
