  • Resumen
    • The study of ancient fluvial deposits in the Ebro Basin shows clear evidences of deformation as tilting and faulting. Moreover, associated to gravel bars and channels corresponding to a braided fluvial system, atypical deposits in such fluvial context, as gravels and sandstones affected by gravitational sedimentary processes, or gravel lobes related to lutite bodies with low width/thickness ratio can be recognized. The sedimentological and structural study of the fluvial deposits reveals that all these features are related to syn-sedimentary deformation as a consequence of the dissolution of the underlying Tertiary evaporites, and the genesis of ancient dolines. The first OSL datings of the terraces of the Ebro river, point out that the age of the studied deformed materials is comprised between 77,753 + 7,749 and 49,876 + 5,434 BP.
