    El diseño de proyecto de la torre de atirantamiento para la ejecución del arco del viaducto de Almonte fue modificado con objeto de optimizar su fabricación y sobre todo para mejorar el ajuste del sistema de tirantes. La principal singularidad del nuevo diseño fue la conexión al tablero de hormigón en donde se cambió el empotramiento por una articulación separando así el funcionamiento de la torre y del tablero. La articulación abrió nuevas posibilidades de montaje de la torre que se fabricó en posición horizontal sobre el tablero y luego se izó de un modo también singular: el sistema biela-deslizadera.

    The project design of staying system tower for the execution of the Almonte Bridge’s arch was modified in order to optimize its manufacturing and, mainly, to improve the adjustment of the staying system. The singularity of the new design was the connection to the concrete deck where the fixed support was changed to a pinned support, so the operation of the tower and the deck become independent.

    The pinned support opened up new possibilities for the assembly of the tower that was built horizontally on the deck and, afterwards, was raised l in a singular way as well: slider-crank mechanism.
